The University of Valley Forge seeks a full-time professor in the area of music education to commence in August 2018. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Teach 12 credit hours per semester.
  • Teaching areas may include: Music theory (4 levels), aural skills (4 levels), fundamentals of music, applied piano, class piano I & II, piano pedagogy, other courses as needed based on qualifications
  • Demonstrate teaching competence in applied piano, class piano, music theory, aural skills, and music technology courses.
  • Assist Department Chair with selected administrative duties related to the graduate music technology program
  • Advise students in academic program and career objectives.
  • Accompany students in department recitals
  • Promote and recruit students.
  • Actively support and participate in department events and initiatives.
  • Serve on departmental and institutional committees.
  • Be a collegial member of a dynamic, interactive faculty.
  • All applicants must express a personal commitment to Jesus Christ and express their Christian testimony in a local church.  In addition, professors agree to live in accordance to the UVF lifestyle standards.
  • Demonstrate commitment to the university mission of preparing individuals for a life of service and leadership in the church and in the world.


  • Master’s degree required, Ph. D. preferred.
  • Preference given to candidates with teaching experience on the university level.
  • Knowledge in music technology desired
  • A member of an Assemblies of God church
