Library Director

 The University of Valley Forge invites applications for the position of Library Director of the Storms Research Center, reporting to the Vice President of Academic Affairs, VPAA.

Function: The Director is responsible for overall library administration, services, and physical facility. The successful candidate will manage the library staff and student workers.


Essential Responsibilities:

  • This position oversees the Technical and Public Services operations including, cataloging, collection development, electronic resources, and assessment.
  • The Director provides reference and information literacy instruction.
  • The Director supervises library staff responsible for circulation and Interlibrary Loan.
  • The Director maintains statistics and has oversight of the library budget.
  • The Director reports to the Vice President of Academic Affairs and represents the library on faculty committees and attends faculty and staff meetings.

 Minimum Requirements:

  • Master‘s degree in Library and Information Science from an ALA accredited program,
  • Experience using OCLC services, and knowledge of national cataloging standards.
  • Familiarity with SirsiDynix ILS system is preferred.
  • Three to five years progressive experience in an academic library setting is required.
  • A proven record in working successfully with diverse populations.
  • A positive attitude and ability to plan and adapt to change.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with University departments and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in use of Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and related applications.
  • An openly committed Christian, living a Spirit-filled life (Acts 2:4, Ephesians 5:18ff); affirming a doctrinal position consistent with Assemblies of God beliefs.
