Digital Media Communications

University of Valley Forge is proud to offer this unique major--training students to become skilled and creative media professionals, in a world that is constantly changing.

The Digital Media Communications major covers graphic design, video production, photography, web design, and audio production through four distinct majors: Digital Media Studies, Digital Media Video, Digital Media Photography, and Digital Media Recording Arts.

Education

This program exists to prepare you with specialized skills in Digital Media that will allow you to be a creative, technologically skilled developer and manager in the digital world. You will learn to think creatively, strategically, and critically when communicating information, producing and distributing your media in both traditional and new media forms. The capstone of the program is an internship that will place you in a production environment to help you understand the relationship of your academic preparation to your career aspirations.

Internships can take place at leading production houses in the region, including award winning production companies, news stations, or churches. You can even do your internship with national organizations or even internationally! Students have completed internships all across the country, and as far away as Africa and Spain.

You can also put your skills to practical use and study a semester at the Los Angeles Film Studies Center. LAFSC trains students to work in the film industry with "professional skill and Christian integrity." There, you earn 16 credit hours in both classroom and internship settings.

Technology

The University of Valley Forge is dedicated to technology. All of our technology is refreshed every three to four years, which means that you are guaranteed to work with state of the art equipment. We offer five facilities that are solely dedicated to Digital Media students.

  • Digital Audio Production Suite
  • Multimedia Production Classroom
  • Digital Media Project Lab
  • Digital Media Production Studio
  • Digital Media Lounge
Each area provides the latest technology to provide students with an innovative learning experience. The University of Valley Forge is also an Apple Authorized Training Center that provides students with the opportunity to become Apple Certified in Final Cut Pro X. A high definition broadcast studio is a proving ground for all students as they work together to produce a live broadcast, 5 days per week.

Through our Digital Media Access Program, you get access to professional cameras, lighting, and audio equipment from your freshman year. You can use our equipment for classes or personal projects--the possibilities are endless!

We are committed to technology and your future.
