Admitted Student Days

JUNE 2017_ASD-12-1Four years ago, the University of Valley Forge (UVF) began hosting Admitted Student Days, or ASDs, during the summer in order to invite students who have been accepted to UVF and their families to "not only feel prepared for the start of the year but also feel more connected to UVF," says Claire Eiler, director of admissions at UVF.

Admitted Student Days serve to facilitate a switch for incoming students from connecting with Admissions to connecting with Student Life. Students are able to meet and talk with admissions counselors, Student Life personnel, faculty, as well as future classmates, and see what it's like at UVF. ASDs provide the opportunity to finalize class schedules and finances, learn how to navigate myValleyforge, explore the campus, understand what it means to be a resident at UVF, and much more. Not only do incoming students connect with the school as a whole, they also connect with other new students, taking the pressure off not knowing anyone when they arrive for check in and giving them more security and confidence to start their freshman year.

So far this year, UVF has had the pleasure of meeting around 85 new students who attended our Admitted Student Days in June and July. Having them on campus was very exciting and we can't wait to see them again in August!
