UVF Leadership Announcement

by University Communications | Dec 09, 2016
Dear student friend,
web-Klaus_HeadshotAs this semester ends and you look forward to finals being done and enjoying Christmas break, I need to let you know about some very difficult decisions that my wife Lois and I have had to make. Right after Thanksgiving I remained back in Missouri for a few extra days to be with Lois during a surgery she had. The lab results of that surgery did not contain the good news we were hoping for. Lois is facing a cancer journey and I simply cannot provide her the support she deserves and needs during this time and continue with the level of commitment that is necessary during this critical season at UVF.
I will have to conclude my service to UVF as this semester ends. You have been such wonderful friends to me. You have welcomed this old guy from Missouri with your warmth and enthusiasm. Thank you for allowing me to be part of the UVF community for the past six months. I will forever be grateful that our paths have crossed and will always remember this short season here in Phoenixville.
The Executive Committee of the Board of Trustees has invited Dr. Ron McManus to step into the Interim President role and I am confident he will do a wonderful job. I know you will welcome him to campus as warmly as you embraced me. He will be here in January as the new semester begins.
I am so proud to have served the University of Valley Forge as your Interim President. This time of transition is under the purview of a God who cares deeply about UVF. I trust Him to guide next steps for Lois and myself and empower your UVF journey as you faithfully follow the Lord’s plan for your life. The future is bright for UVF and for all of you.
Your friend,
Byron D. Klaus
