The University of Valley Forge (UVF) said goodbye to former baseball coach Don Leroy Hoover who went home to be with the Lord peacefully on July 16, 2016, at the age of 64. Hoover coached UVF's baseball team as head coach for six years, from 2006–2012. After resigning in 2012, he took the position as assistant coach for one additional year under head coach and son, Andrew Hoover '07.

Hoover's family hosted a Celebration of Life Service on Wednesday, July 20, at the Faith Outreach Center at Mt. Joy, Pennsylvania. UVF faculty, staff and alumni attended the service and paid their respects to Hoover and his family, remembering what an influence he had on the university's Department of Athletics.
