2013 Distinguished Alumni Award Winners

Congratulations to the following alumni who received awards at this year's Valley Forge Christian College (VFCC) Homecoming celebration:

Chris ’08 and Mandy ’07 Morante

Mandy (Davidson) Morante graduated from VFCC in 2007 with a major in Elementary Education. While a student, she served as a START Team Leader, a Student Government Association (SGA) officer, a Life Group leader, a Community Service Day supervisor and a senior speaker.
Mandy has taught in elementary schools since graduating from VFCC, and currently works as a fifth grade teacher in a special education inclusion classroom. Along with her husband, Mandy pastored The Well, a young adults ministry at Evangel Church.
Chris Morante graduated in 2008 with a Pastoral Ministry degree. While a student, he served on SGA, on the 3D Ministry Team, and as a resident assistant, senior speaker and Baccalaureate speaker. He was also invited to participate in the West Point Ethics Conference and in the Innovative Leadership Experience with Dr. H. Robert Rhoden.
Chris served as the New Jersey District Bible Quiz Coordinator for three years, and developed the Never Thirst Again Missions Initiative and the THIRST National Young Adult Conference. He was a member of the Assemblies of God (AG) National Young Adults Leadership Team from 2011-2013. Chris currently serves as senior pastor of Evangel Church, a 1,500-member AG church in New Jersey.
Joe Butler ’04

Joe Butler graduated from VFCC in 2004 with a degree in Pastoral Ministry. While in college, he played intramural basketball and served with the Homeless Ministry. 
Along with his involvement in developing a special needs ministry in his home church of Decatur Assembly of God, he founded Ability Tree, a faith-based nonprofit organization that provides recreation, education, support and training for families of children with disabilities, with the desire to also help the church become more inclusive of these children. He is also a member of the Siloam Springs, Arkansas Civitan Club.
Butler is an AG U.S. Missionary and the CEO of Ability Tree. He has received the Clergy Award for inclusive ministries and the Community Involvement Award for his work in making a positive impact in his community.

Gayle Brostowski ’85

Gayle Brostowski graduated from VFCC in 1985 with a Pastoral Ministry degree. While at VFCC, Brostowski served on SGA, and played on the women’s basketball and women’s softball teams, traveled on the College’s drama team, was the co-leader of the Reading Children’s Home Ministry Team and was a prayer cell leader.
For nine years after graduation, Brostowski served as a youth pastor in Massachusetts, Pennsylvania and New York, and as a Youth Representative for the Southern New England District.
Since June of 1994, Brostowski has served as a full-time evangelist and as the staff evangelist at Green Ridge Assembly of God in Scranton, Pa. In June 2007, she was invited by the Executive Presbytery of the AG to serve as a member of the National Evangelists Committee. In 1986 and 1997, she received the Outstanding Young Woman of America Award. Brostowski has been credentialed with the AG for 27 years.

Omar Beiler
Omar Beiler attended VFCC in from 1982-1984 to study missions. He and his wife, Pat, began their ministry as pastors at churches in Freemont, Ohio and Christiana, Pennsylvania. In 1993, they moved to Vienna, Austria where they served as missionary pastors for seven years.
In 2000, Beiler was appointed Area Director for the Commonwealth of Independent States and Baltic Republics, where he helped to lead ministries into previously unreached areas and emphasized the need for theological training in those areas.
Beiler currently serves as the regional director of the Eurasia AG World Missions, overseeing nearly 400 missionaries and missionary associates in 43 countries from North Africa to eastern Russia. He holds a Master of Organizational Leadership degree from Azusa Pacific University. He and Pat have two children, Jennifer and Justin.
