UVF Hosts CharleSound Fest

by Melea Fowler - Office of Marketing | Aug 31, 2017
It was a beautiful sunny day on the University of Valley Forge (UVF) campus on August 1, 2017, when Technical College High School, Pickering Campus (TCHS) partnered with UVF to host their first CharleSound Fest.

A play on the words "Charlestown" and "sound," the CharleSound Fest included booths showcasing the programs offered by both TCHS Pickering as well as the Digital Media program offered by UVF. Some of the interactive demonstrations by TCHS Pickering included a virtual police training simulator, virtual welding experience, photo editing, and how-to demos as well as fun, hands-on activities for kids.

Digital media faculty and the Media Production Team (MPT) were able to give tours of the newly renovated digital media facilities inside Capeci Hall as well as demonstrate the Flower Chapel's camera setup and production equipment to TCHS Pickering students. In the Flower Chapel, UVF's traveling music ministry team Chosen, as well as the band SLAMM from TCHS Pickering, performed live concerts. Food trucks lined the road in front of Capeci Hall and games were set up in the yard between the Storms Research Center (SRC) and residence building 32.

It was a great day for TCHS Pickering and UVF as the partnership between schools led to a fun-filled evening and the involvement of the community.
