Head Men's and Women's Cross Country Coach

The University of Valley Forge, an Assemblies of God college located in Phoenixville, PA invites application for the part-time position of Head Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Coach. The University of Valley Forge is a National Collegiate Athletic Association Division III (NCAA 3) Member and a National Christian College Athletic Association Division II (NCCAA II) Member.


Duties will include managing all aspects of the men’s and women’s cross country program including coaching, budgeting, and recruiting while fully supporting the athletic department’s philosophy of preparing student athletes for the journey of discipleship through athletics by pursuing excellence in skill, teamwork, leadership, Christian character, and servant-hood.


  • Bachelor’s degree required/master’s degree preferred.
  • Possess two to three years of coaching and recruiting experience at the college level.
  • Demonstrate commitment to the holistic development of the student-athlete; possess a passion for working with college-aged students.
  • Ability to provide spiritual leadership and help others grow spiritually.
  • Passion for the sport that inspires motivation for professional growth as a coach.
  • Proven ability to coach the sport and motivate student-athletes to develop athletically.
  • Possess excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to cultivate relationships.
  • Proficient in office-based computer programs.
  • Highly organized, motivated and energetic.
  • Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrate a high degree of initiative and commitment to the mission of the institution, to equity, and to diversity.
  • Be an openly committed Christian, living a Spirit-filled life (Acts 2:4, Ephesians 5:18ff), and affirming a doctrinal position consistent with Assemblies of God beliefs.
