29 Mar Alumni Reflection: Celebrating 80 Years of Ministry
“One generation commends your works to another; they tell of Your mighty acts.” Psalm 145:4
A LOOK BACK
Eighty years of memories are chronologically ordered in the yearbooks on the shelves in my office. If I were to count the students in those yearbooks, it would number in the thousands – that equals a lot of memories!
As alumni, we can sift through the recollections of our brief spot on the timeline, and that can help us to LOOK WITHIN – to examine the foundation upon which we have built our lives and ministries.
I remember specific chapel services, classes, Christian service assignments, and times around the altar on choir tour that greatly impacted my life, largely due to the Presence of the Lord being so powerful in our midst. Remembrances assist us in realigning with our ultimate purpose, and that is good.
Reminiscing can also stir and inspire us to LOOK FORWARD, to imagine what the Lord wants do in the future. Over the past few months of being on campus, I have had the opportunity to interact with some of our current students. It is exciting to get to know them, to see their potential, and to dream with them!
The Lord continues to move here at the University of Valley Forge as the groundwork is being established in the lives of our students. I count it a privilege to give back and to be a part of this work. This year as we celebrate 80 years of ministry, let us not only LOOK BACK and LOOK WITHIN, but let’s LOOK FORWARD, for I believe that our greatest years are ahead!
Celebrate with Us!
