31 Aug Dorm Lounges Receive Makeovers
On August 9 and 10, 2018, volunteers and staff from the University of Valley Forge (UVF) came together to build new furniture, paint, decorate, and give dorm lounges a fresh makeover. Student leaders and athletes arrived back on campus and were excited to see the transformations of the buildings they call home.
Reverend Jennifer Gale, Vice President of Student Life, said “Our students are so blessed by the generosity of churches that gave, and volunteers that came on site to assemble and move the furniture. So much can happen when we join together!” Her family and members from her church – including UVF Vice President of Finance Teresa John and her husband Kris, Ginger and Mike Behnke and their daughters, UVF Director of Purchasing Chrysta Archer, and RV-er Judy Guevin – were among the volunteers helping to build and set up furniture.
The lounges that received the largest makeovers were Bongiorno, Beisel, and Beuttler, though each dorm received a new TV and decorative touches. The furniture, paint, TVs, and decorations were able to be purchased thanks to the very generous donations of the following churches and individuals:
Bellerose Assembly of God, NY
Morningstar Fellowship – Bechtelsville, PA
Fountain of Life, NJ
First Assembly of Shrewsbury, NJ
Evangel Church, NJ
Rev. Carl Colletti
Thank you so much for investing in the tangible experience of UVF students and for making a difference on the campus. Your impact is felt and appreciated by everyone at UVF!
