Ken Lang
Assistant Professor Kenneth Lang accepted the position of Department of Behavioral Sciences chair, as Associate Professor Debra Brown, D.Min., stepped down from the position in June 2015. Brown served and led as chair of the Department of Behavioral Sciences for the past year. Lang was the ideal candidate to undertake this leadership position and responsibility. He will continue his teaching responsibilities as well as lead the rest of the department faculty, update the curriculum where necessary, establish and meet department goals and many more tasks that affect the department.
Since his arrival to UVF one year ago in fall 2014, Lang has shown his support and dedication to the students inside and outside of the classroom and to the university as a whole. He is the director of the Criminal Justice program at UVF; served as character coach for the men’s basketball team; and led a crime investigation series last year, which was offered to the community.
Prior to UVF, Lang served for 24 years in Maryland law enforcement and primarily investigated violent crimes. For 15 of those years, he served as a detective in the Baltimore County Police Department.
