The University of Valley Forge (UVF) welcomes back alumnus and former men’s basketball player, Mark Laird '00. Laird will serve in the Office of Student Life as the new campus director and men’s basketball assistant coach.

Laird has a passion for students who are trying to understand God’s calling as they experience various trials and accomplishments. Among his top priorities are to create a smooth transition for incoming students, build mentorship relationships, and provide wise counsel to UVF students. He desires to become someone whom students can learn from and approach for advice.
After graduating from UVF, Laird began his coaching and discipleship career with a men’s high school basketball team. From there, he also coached basketball at the collegiate level. During that time, he earned a Master of Arts in Communication from Hawaii Pacific University. Most recently, he coached at Texas A&M International University in Laredo, Texas. There, he worked closely with the Residence Life and Student Life departments. He was a well-known presence on campus as a coach who students found approachable and caring.

Laird is happy to be back at the campus that was his home and where professors inspired him to be a godly man.
