Convoy Of Hope 2015
On September 19, 2015, 45 students awoke early on a Saturday morning and devoted the day to serving in the City of Brotherly Love through the Convoy of Hope annual outreach event. Partnering with a local Philadelphia church, these students dedicated their time and energy to minister to the community.

The event took place in a school parking lot located in the heart of Philadelphia. Many of the locals who attended the event were passing by and were drawn to the excitement of what was taking place on the street. As a result, many were blessed by the love of the Father through the willing hands of UVF students and partnering church members.

UVF students served in a variety of ways including ministering to children through activities like face painting, overseeing the bounce houses and making balloon animals for children to take home. They also blessed families through the distribution of charitable donations, which included groceries and clothes.

Not only were students interested in meeting the physical needs of these individuals and their families but they offered spiritual aid, too. A prayer tent in the middle of the lot provided a location where students could pray for the personal needs of many participants. “It was amazing how students came together to be a part of something bigger than themselves,” said Missions Committee Outreach Coordinator Alexandria Alagna.

The team of UVF students connected with the local church members serving alongside them. Alagna commented by saying, “It was such a blessing to serve the community of Philadelphia and the church we partnered with at the same time.” Indeed, UVF's mission was powerfully demonstrated through this annual outreach, as students were able to serve both the church and the world.
